Sometimes you’re left with a file that’s just over 700 megabytes when you want to burn it to cd. There’s two ways of fixing that. Either cut off a piece or re-encode the entire thing to be a few megabytes smaller. This article teaches you how to determine the correct codec settings to get the wanted file size by re-encoding.
One of the ways of doing this is using a bitrate calculator. By filling in the fields of the bitrate calculator it will provide you with the correct settings for the encoding process.
The number given in the calculator indicates the number that should be inserted in the codec options just before starting an encode*.
